Mikal Petersen

Head of Insurance Agency Operations

Mikal is the Head of Flourish Insurance Agency Operations. With more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, Mikal brings deep expertise in operations management, service delivery, and strategic leadership.

Prior to joining Flourish, he served as a Director at MetLife in the Retirement Income Solutions division, where he guided both service operations and long-term strategic initiatives. Before that, Mikal was Corporate Vice President of Retail Annuity Claims at New York Life, overseeing large-scale operational teams and driving process improvements across the organization. Mikal holds several industry credentials, including the ACS and LOMA designations. He holds a Series 6 license and is currently preparing for the Series 63, and is an insurance producer licensed in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Mikal holds a B.S. in Economics from Utah State University as well as his M.B.A. from Western Governors University.

Fun Fact: When he’s not out for a run, Mikal is usually exploring something new—often whatever hobby his kids have most recently pulled him into.
