December 30, 2024
Estimated reading time: 2 minutes
We hope that the end of the year finds you sitting by the fire – or pool – with time to relax and reflect on the past year. To prompt your reflections and help fuel your inspiration for the coming year, we’ve gathered a list of recommended reading from the Flourish library.
Case studies: Finding success with Flourish Cash†
From multi-billion dollar RIAs like Buckingham to boutique firms like RoseRock, our growing collection of case studies gives you a look at Flourish Cash in action. In these case studies, we share how firms:±
- help clients earn millions in interest
- systematically roll out a cash-management solution
- support business owners
- increase firm efficiency
- make cash an integral part of planning for all rate environments
Cash matters: The enduring benefits of a cash solution
The steady stream of rate increases and bank instability in 2023 made cash a hot topic. Yet, even with decreasing interest rates, clients have become far more aware of this piece of the personal financial puzzle.
In our two-part series, we looked at why cash still matters to clients and how advisors who support them with a high-yield cash solution can provide both immediate and long-term benefits.
Behavioral finance: Cash is more than a number
Earlier this year, we put a spotlight on behavioral finance, a growing field that explores the psychological factors and biases that influence financial decision making.
We looked at the intersection of behavioral finance and cash, followed by an interview with Flourish CEO Max Lane about how understanding this field can help advisors add value.
We concluded the series with an interview with Orion's Chief Behavioral Officer, Dr. Daniel Crosby, a psychologist and behavioral finance expert who helps organizations understand the intersection of minds and markets.
Research: Advisor perceptions on held-away cash
Our research conducted in partnership with Wealth Management IQ resulted in Client Cash: Mapping an Unexplored Opportunity, a report that looks at advisor perceptions around clients’ held-away cash and attitudes around cash management needs. The key findings reveal that clients' cash holding are vastly underestimated and that there is an opportunity for advisors to address client needs – helping their firm become more competitive in the process.
Words from the wise: Speaker Series + Advisor Spotlight
We had the opportunity to connect with industry leaders who shared their experiences and insights through the Speakers Series. Orion's Chief Behavioral Officer Dr. Daniel Crosby spoke to us about how behavioral finance explores the psychological biases that drive human behavior and influence financial decision making. Callie Cox, Chief Market Strategist at Ritholtz Wealth Management, shared how her work connects the dots between market moves and client portfolios.
Be sure not to miss past conversations with personal finance expert Farnoosh Torabi and award-winning Business Analyst for CBS News Jill Schlesinger.
Our Advisor Spotlight series focuses on the journeys and experience of financial advisors and experts that partner with Flourish. We kicked off the series last December with Kaitlyn Carlson, Founder and CEO of Theory Planning Partners continued with Curt Stowers, co-founder of F5 Financial Planning, and concluded with an interview with advisor coach Stephanie Bogan.±
